Research question: How do different heights of the slope (10cm, 15cm, 20cm, 25cm, 30cm) affect the time it takes for the car to travel a set distance of time.
Hypothesis: If I increase the height of the ramp in centimeters, then the speed of the car in meters per second will increase because…… Background information: Independent variable: The variable that will be changed is the height of the ramp. It will be measured by changing the height of the ramp 5 times (10cm, 15cm, 20cm, 25cm, 30cm) I will use a clamp stand and a ruler in cm to measure the changing height of the ramp. I will use a ruler that shows mm, and I will round it up to the nearest 0.5mm. (The smaller the increment the more accurate the measurement). Dependent variable: The variable that will be measured is the time it takes for car to travel a set distance 1 meter. I will measure the time it takes by using a stopwatch, the stopwatch must show 2 decimal points, round it up to the smallest increment 0.005s. Errors: Control Variables: Safety considerations: Method: Materials for experiment:
